This is our custom t-shirt designer. Please note the instruction at top, "design in the dotted boundary box". Designs outside the boundary will be scaled to to fit, keep within to know what you're ordering.
top
Selecting the category "T-shirt" (unisex) we have more options to choose from. For this tutorial, the heather ringer tee.
top
We're selecting the "Indigo" Heather Ringer Tee for our first custom t-shirt.
top
This is the design work space and the front of the custom tee. To design the back of the tee, select to the right of the shirt preview the 'switch print location' icon. On the right, note the 'add art', 'add text' and 'upload art' options.
top

We're adding art, if you were to upload art -understand the program can only accept web formatted images (gif, jpeg and png). Digital art that is the size you want printed on your shirt (10"-12" wide for full front or full back) and 200ppi or higher, saved as PNG24 will give you the very best result.
top

Here's the clipart library, up top are backgrounds and frame images that work really well combined with photos you upload. Alternative style offers inks spatters and other elements, the categories give you a lot of good clip art to work with.
top

When you roll over an image in the clip art directory, you get a larger pop up image to get a good look at the element you're considering.
top
The theme 'bleeding heart' would suggest a red spatter. Single color art can be recolored. On the left check to make sure the right image element is selected, on the right click the 'change product color' and you get a pop up window of colors to choose from.
top

When you add type to a design, you have all the available fonts of the left, as you roll over each font, it pops up a preview ofits font name in the style of the font so you have an idea of what you'll get.
top

Selecting the 'Incognitype' font, I write the text "my bleeding heart..." in the cell labelled "Your Text".
top
The type is a bit big, Let's modify the text, curve it using the curved icon under "text properties" on the right panel.
top
The Properties panel at the top of the right panel bar - allows you to scale, distort, and rotate any object. Here, we're rotating the text.
top
We scaled the height and width to make the type element smaller. If you wanted to scale just the width, distorting the type, you would uncheck the box labelled "Lock". The type is scaled and colored a nice maroon. This custom t-shirt is ready to order!
top
The design is finished, click the "size and quantity" tab to choose the number of custom t-shirts and sizes you want to order with the artwork. Here one medium shirt has been selected. Note that as you select shirts, your price is adjusted. This heather ringer is a premium shirt.
top
Choose the #4 "Save" tab at top, to save your custom t-shirt design and/or your order. If this is your first order, sign up - otherwise log in. Yes, you can save designs to work on later, allow you to collaberate with others - or to place more orders later if your friends want one too.
top
Now you can check out, but let's say you want to order a different custom t-shirt and add that to your order. To add an entirely new custom t-shirt - choose the #1 tab at the top, "Catalog". To checkout and buy what you have already, proceed to the #5 tab up top, "Checkout".
top
When you select "Catalog" it brings you back to the last kind of shirt you ordered. If you want a different, new kind of shirt - you must use the "back" tab shown above. DO NOT USE THE BROWSER BACK BUTTON! -That will re-load the design program.
top
Ok, We went back once to the "men" category and selected the Gildan Ultra Cotton tee. This shirt comes in many colors, but I want a very basic black tee. If you wanted to select a Women's tee for your second design, you'd hit the designer's "back" button repeatedly until you got into the main section.
top
We need some art for this second custom t-shirt - so we're adding art. The "Alternative Style" clip art has some lip prints and a skeleton too, Let's use the cool skeleton.
top
The immediate issue is that you cannot see a black skeleton on a black shirt, so I change the color properties to make it white. Also, note the boundary box, it was less visable on the heather tee image (you'll see it in the designer no matter the shirt) - but here you can see it perfectly. This is the maximum size we will print your design, so use this box to know what you're ordering.
top
Here, I simply moved the skeleton down, to fit in the boundary box.
top
I picked a cool font and am inputing the type "Danse Macabre" as the skeleton looks to me as if it could be executing a dance move. top
The default color of type is black, which cannot be seen on a black shirt and so, must be recolored.
top
A nice magenta for the type - all it needs is to be scaled a little smaller...
top
There! This custom t-shirt is designed! Now to select tab #3, Size and quantity.
top
Now see that you have TWO different shirts, with two different designs - on one order! This saves you money on shipping as we have a flat rate per order. If you want to add a third, fourth or more designs to your custom t-shirt order - just save (tab #4) and go back to the catalog (tab #1) - and repeat the process.

You can delete or edit shirt designs you have second thoughts about too- those options are right next to each other to the right.
